Boat trips are inseparable from the Czechoslovak Switzerland. Observing the picturesque Elbe Canyon directly from the deck of the boat, with a cup of good coffee or a glass of summer drink, will captivate everyone. You will never forget such a unique experience combined with beautiful natural scenery and views of the landmarks of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland. You can also combine the cruise with hiking or cycling. There are plenty of hiking trails in the vicinity of the Elbe River, including the Elbe Trail for cyclists. The cruise operators also take cyclists into account in Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland, so you don't have to worry about not getting your bike accepted.

The range of cruises is truly extensive. You can go to Hřensko, Bad Schandau, Dresden, the Saxon spa of Rathen, Pillnitz Castle or the medieval fortress of Königstein. Cruises to porcelain-famous Meissen or Moritzburg Castle, where the fairy tale "The Three Nutcrackers" was filmed, are also very popular. During the Christmas season, special Advent cruises are also on offer, taking in Germany's historic markets.

Boat trips are organized by a private cruise company from Decin, where the boat also sets sail. You can find the dock of the passenger cruise ships on the Smetana embankment, directly below the tourist information centre. Here you can also park in the free parking lot. Boats Bohemia, Orion or Poseidon sail from the port of Děčín and will make your experience more pleasant with a rich refreshment and a bar. The cruise is usually easy and even the little ones can handle it.

However, if you are planning a trip to more distant tourist attractions than Hřensko and Bad Schandau, we recommend planning and booking your cruise in advance. There are specific dates for such trips, which can be found at the Elbe Navigation website.

Cruises with DUK

Boat trips are also provided by the Transport of the Ústí Region (DÚK for short), whose cruise lines operate from mid-April to mid-June, and then from the second half of September to the end of October. If you intend to combine your DÚK cruise with a train or bus journey, it is worth buying a one-day network ticket, which is valid for all modes of public transport in the Ústí nad Labem Region, including the Hřensko-Schöna ferry.
