Dolský mill

Dolský mill

The romantic Dolský mlýn is located at the confluence of the Kamenice River and Jetřichovice Bělá, approximately 1.5 km from Kamenická Stráň and 3 km from Jetřichovice. The ruins of the original three-wheeled mill and sawmill date back to 1515. In 2007, Dolský Mill was declared a cultural monument.

Dolský mlýn is also a very interesting place for filmmakers. The fairy tales The Proud Princess, Hell with the Princess and The Lost Prince were filmed here. Foreign productions have also been enchanted by this mysterious place on more than one occasion. When visiting Dolský Mill, be sure to take a look at the memorial tree, which is approximately 500 metres away. The royal spruce rises to a height of 27 metres and its trunk has a circumference of around three metres. It has been alive for more than 180 years.

How to get there

The most comfortable way leads from Jetřichovice: along a well-maintained 3 km long forest path along the yellow tourist trail. The nearest bus stop is in Vysoká Lípa (line 434 - Jetřichovice, Vysoká Lípa, Hotel Lípa), from there you have to walk down to the Kamenice River along the blue hiking trail and continue for about 2 km along the river. The next bus stop is in Jetřichovice (line 434 - Jetřichovice, Starý mlýn, or stops lines 436). If you decide to take the train, expect to travel 10 km from Česká Kamenice along well-marked hiking trails.
