High water in Elbe River - Emergency closures

According to data from the water level recording station upstream in Usti nad Labem, the Elbe River has reached third degree flood level activity status (the highest alert level). Water levels in the Elbe are expected to crest on September 18 in the late evening hours at a level of 800 cm (at UL station).

➡️ The city of Decin is working with rescue services to monitor the situation and has taken a number of precautionary measures. Some roads and attractions are closed entirely. Here is a partial list of closures and restrictions for the next few days:

📍 Current restrictions in force on roadways:

⭕️ Road closurse

  • Road between Certova voda and Dolni Zleb
  • Underpass at Tyrs Bridge
  • Bike trail below Kocanda
  • Bike trail in Boleticích, in the direction of Techlovice
  • Bike trail along Ploucnice River (danger of falling trees)
  • Parking lot at municipal library
📍 Depending on the rising water levels the following may be closed:
  • Underpass at CETRANS (Malsovice)
  • Vodni ulice in Rozbelesy (road to winter harbor)
  • Labske nabrezi between Priper and Prostredni Zleb
  • U Přívozu – near Kocanda
  • Road between Techlovice and Jakuby
  • Ploucnicka ulice – between Brezova primary school and the swimming pool
  • Labska ulice – parking lot below the school dormitory
📍 Additional planned measures
  • A retaining wall to be erected around the U Pristavu building
📍Aditional flood barriers may be erected throughout town, including the roundabout at Mototechna, at Lidle, and the tennis courts in 2. polske armady street.
Other closures from 12 Sept.
  • Decin Zoo is closed.
  • River cruises are not operating on the Elbe at this time
  • The river gorges in Hrensko are closed to visitors
  • Hikers should be wary when walking in areas where the ground is saturated with rainwater. There is a danger of falling trees.
  • The municipal visitors center in the library is closed.
