Edmund's Gorge may reopen

The municipality of Hřensko is planning to partially open Edmund's Gorge, also known as the Silent Gorge, in the spring of this year. This unique tourist destination, traditionally used for boating, has been closed since 2022 after a devastating fire.

The restoration of the gorge is being intensively worked on. Last autumn, experts intervened here as part of flood protection - the woodcutters removed trees that could create an obstacle in the Kamenice River if they fell. Currently, the municipality's employees are cleaning the paths and installing railings. "We would like to open in a limited mode, the most important thing for us is safety, both of employees and tourists," said Hřensko mayor Kateřina Horáková.

According to estimates, groups of tourists with guides could return to the gorge around Easter. The next part, the Wild Gorge, should be open to visitors in early April.

We will keep you informed about further developments on our website and social networks, and keep an eye on the Hřensko website.
