The green hiking trail to Klopotsky vodopad waterfall remains open while logging is underway in the area. Extreme caution is advised!
Logging continues in the forest on the rocky slope above Dolni Zleb. This is a rocky area with sandstone cliffs and very poor access. That means that there is an ever-present danger of landslide, rockfall, and falling logs while logging is underway.
The land is state owned and is under the care of Lesy Ceske republiky (the Czech forestry service). In the interest of public safety, the city of Decin has opened a dialogue with the logging agency to ensure that people and property below the area in question are protected. Among steps agreed upon are daily controls of the area where trees were being harvested, regular checks of no-entry signage on access trails to the logging area, and establishing channels for cooperation between the city and other authorities in case of complications.
In the interests of reducing risks arising from logging activity, we urge all people entering the area, in their own interest, to respect prohibitions and instructions issued by responsible parties and not to loiter in or around the logging area at any time, regardless of whether logging is underway. Hikers may utilize the green trail to Klopotsky vodopad waterfall near Dolni Zleb with heightened caution but access to unmarked trails and off the trail in this area is forbidden.
These safety measures apply until further notice (estimated end of logging activity is Aug. 10).
