Decin Zoo celebrates its 75th birthday this year! As part of the celebration, it's going for a record!

"The inspiration for the record and the main star of the celebrations will be Bruno the Kamchatka bear. As a birthday gift, we will give his double in the form of a large stuffed mascot. And in cooperation with Agentura Dobrý den from Pelhrimov, which keeps track of Czech records and curiosities, we are attempting a new Czech record. On Saturday, 31 August, we would like to invite all our fans and lovers of Bruno the Bear to come to us wearing any t-shirt with a bear on it," revealed zoo spokeswoman Alena Houskova.

What should the t-shirt look like?

Wear any tee with a bear print, a drawing, embroidery or a photo, the main thing is that the bear should be clearly visible. And any outerwear will count as a t-shirt, including sweatshirts, sweaters, vests, jackets or baby onesies. This is a great time to wear your bear t-shirt from Decin’s info center (available at the library, the train station, the zoo ticket office or Decin’s official online shop).

The event includes the official unveiling of the mascot, music, games and contests, and even a workshop where you can make your own bear t-shirt. Everyone who comes to the zoo wearing a t-shirt with a bear on it gets in at a reduced rate.

“Grown-ups will pay 75 crowns, after all, we are celebrating our 75th birthday. Children, students and seniors get in for just 50 crowns," the spokesperson added.
