This weekend (Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1) brings music and fun to the heart of town.
There will be fireworks on Friday night at dusk. The Labefest music festival takes place down on the riverside Friday and Saturday, spilling over into the Marian Meadow with fun for the whole family.
On Friday the main stage opens with the winner of the Labefest talent contest, followed by Imodium. At 10 pm the municipal fireworks display erupts on the riverside, this year to the theme James Bond. But the fun doesn’t end there. The riverside party continues with the ever-popular band Mig 21 on the main stage.
On Saturday visitors can look forward to the legendary Czechoslovak rock band Olympic, the clever lyrics of Xindl X, rappers Yzomandias, and Marpo & the Troublegang.
The free-entry chill-out zone on Marian Meadow on Saturday includes areas for children and adults with a family zone and a second stage with a program starting at 10 am. The program includes a puppet show, a magic show, drummers, folk singers, musical groups, a stand-up comedy show and more. There will also be a trivia game, stilt walkers, workshops, relaxation area where visitors can create a mandala, and the Adrenalin Challenge Kids (filled to capacity already!).
Please note, on Friday evening and Saturday a ticket will be required for access to the riverside through the tunnel in the castle bluff. To get to Marian Meadow without a ticket, please use ulice U Plovarny or the bridge from the Castle’s Southern Gardens.
Other activities this weekend include Kid’s Day at the Decin Zoo on Saturday – kids get into the zoo for just 10 CZK. Decin Castle also organizes activities for children on Saturday, including a fairytale garden (the Southern Garden). On Sunday at 3 pm visitors can look forward to a free concert at the bandstand on the riverside with Kvinta at 3 pm, students of Decin’s music school at 4 pm, and Will Eifel at 5 pm.
